Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland will sit down with super-agent Mino Raiola later today to discuss his future, according to reports.

The 21-year-old will become one of the most sought-after players in the summer transfer window, with a £67million release clause being activated later this year.

He has already received offers from Manchester City, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

However, according to SER Deportivos, Real Madrid have now asked Haaland to stay at Borussia Dortmund for one more year.

Real Madrid have turned their attention to signing Kylian Mbappe this summer and plan to announce a deal with the striker at the end of the season.

As a result, the LaLiga giants have asked Halaand to hold fire on a transfer to Spain as they believe it would be unfair to sign him in the same transfer window as the French international.

Real Madrid believe Haaland deserves the respect of being called their 'star signing' and they think the arrival of Mbappe would overshadow him.

Therefore, they have asked Haaland to wait one more year before joining the club to ensure he receives the heroes welcome he deserves.

Nevertheless, Premier League giants Manchester City are said to be leading the transfer race to sign Haaland.

The Citizen's are sill looking to replace Sergio Aguero who left last summer and have identified Haaland as the perfect candidate.

Pep Guardiola believes his side have the funds and ambition to acquire the striker's services.

Haaland's father, Alf-Inge, is also keen to see the 21-year-old play for City as he represented the club himself between 2000 and 2003.

Regardless of where Halaand moves to, he will be looking to continue the fine form he has demonstrated at Borussia Dortmund.

He currently boasts a rather remarkable record of 42 goals across the last two Bundesliga seasons.
