Rival fans are mocking Pep Guardiola by labelling him as 'Fraudiola' for the money he has spent at Manchester City, but failed to deliver a Champions League.
The Spaniard has failed in six consecutive seasons in Europe, despite enjoying plenty of success domestically, winning three Premier League titles, four League Cups, one FA Cup and two English Super Cups.
But City have been desperately chasing down Champions League success that seems to allude them crashing out in the knock-out each season.
In 2017, they were knocked out by Monaco in the last-16, 2018 they were beaten by Liverpool 5-1 on aggregate in the quarter-finals, it was then defeat to Tottenham in the quarter-finals the following.
In 2020, a quarter-final to Lyon was another set back, before in 2021 they reached the final but failed at the final hurdle with a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea.
Yet again this season, City have fallen short as they lost 6-5 on aggregate to Real Madrid in the semi-finals thanks to a 3-1 Real win on Wednesday evening.
It seems rival supporters are now questioning whether the 51-year-old has what it takes to win City's first-ever Champions League - most joining in on calling him 'Fraudiola' after their latest failure.
Especially given how much money owner Sheikh Mansour has spent since the arrival of Guardiola, in order to keep winning the Premier League, and go one step further to winning in Europe.
One fan said: 'Pep Fraudiola took over a Man City team that had won 2 League titles + FA cup in 4 years with KDB, Fernandinho, Sterling, Stones, Aguero, D.Silva etc.
'He spent extra £1bn on transfers but still cant deliver the UCL after 6 full seasons.
'Checkbook manager. Local Champion.'
A second made a meme, which was captioned: 'Pep Fraudiola asking sheikh Mansour for another 200million in July.'
Another insisted Thomas Tuchel is a better manager than Guardiola after winning the Champions League just six months after joining Chelsea.
The tweet read: 'Tuchel>Fraudiola. Tuchel did in 6 months what Pep could not do in 6 years.'
A third added: 'Useless substitutions... Fraudiola thought it was over at 6 minutes extra time.'
No manager has lost more Champions League semi-finals than Pep Guardiola now with six, that does include his previous clubs.
One fan responded to the statistic, saying: 'FRAUDIOLA! I'm never getting off this train.'
Another fan simply broke down City Champions League history under Guardiola, by tweeting: '2017: Loses to Monaco 2018: Gets destroyed by Klopp's Liverpool 2019: Bottles to Spurs 2020: Loses to Lyon 2021: Loses to Chelsea 2022: Bottles to Real Madrid Fraudiola.'
