Roma sporting director Tiago Pinto admits it's been a tough week.
Pinto was cut out of the decision to sack Jose Mourinho and hire Daniele de Rossi as his replacement. Pinto will also be leaving next month.
He said: "They have been difficult days, it is never pleasant to make these decisions and change so many things. I don't know anyone who can enjoy these moments.
"The board made its own assessments and decided this was the right thing to do. During these days we have done our best to make the team available to the new coach and try to achieve our objectives.
"Inevitable change? Now we look ahead, the club and the owners decided that this was the right time to make this change and now let's think about playing at our best. My future is decided, regardless of Mourinho, I made this decision a long time ago.
"I'm sorry not to be alongside Daniele, I've known him for some time, we have a good feeling. Until my last day I will be next to him."
