Ronaldo's watch costs more than seven times amount he spent on Range Rover

Cristiano Ronaldo has a Scrooge McDuck amount of money and has been showing off his latest lavish purchase, a stunning £750,000 watch, on Instagram.

The 38-year-old, who earns a whopping £3.4m-a-week at Al-Nassr, is the highest-paid sportsperson on the planet so it's little surprise to see him splashing the cash in such ostentatious fashion.

But to put the cost of the timepiece into context, the bill for it was nearly eight times higher than the one Ronaldo received when he bought his luxury £100,000 Range Rover Sport a few years back.

The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus forward uploaded a photo of himself sporting the dazzling device, made by Jacob & Co, to his Instagram story while wearing a similarly-stylish (though presumably slightly cheaper) yellow and white polo.

Ronaldo has a staggering 584m followers on Instagram, making him the most popular individual on the site, and it's understood he rakes in around £3m per week from his posts, many of which are sponsored.

What's the most you've ever spent on a watch? Let us know in the comments section below.

From a financial standpoint, Ronaldo's move to Saudi Arabia was a masterstroke (as Piers Morgan keeps reminding us), but professionally it's a different story.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has netted 13 goals in 17 games, but Al-Nassr are still trailing in the league with just a couple of matches left to go in the season. Moreover, Ronaldo has looked well off the pace and now seems unable to hit the same physical and technical heights we've come to expect of him over the years.
