Jerome Rothen did not appreciate Neymar's statements after his hat-trick against Clermont this weekend. According to him, the Brazilian has missed the major deadlines of the Paris season and should be discreet until the end of the championship.
The victory of PSG against Clermont, 6-1, will not erase the disillusionment of elimination in the Champions League. “There is something that has annoyed me all weekend, it is the statements of some”, explained Jérôme Rothen in Rothen ignites, this Monday on RMC. The former Paris Saint-Germain player generally regrets that the Parisians are happy with their latest results.
"Today, whether they shine against Lorient or Clermont, that's the least they can do, assures Rothen. Have you seen the means they have compared to these clubs? And some will say that it's is magnificent 5 goals against Lorient. Yes, but you were bored for 70 minutes, and I was there at the Parc des Princes, I know what I'm talking about. Thanks to Kylian Mbappé, who transformed this team, PSG have well finished and you are left with the right impression: Neymar a double, Messi three assists, it's fantastic."
"But Neymar? But shut up!"
"In Clermont, you can imagine, two hat-tricks, continues Rothen. Mbappé, I'm not going to fall on him because he's been like that since the start of the season. But Neymar? But shut up! You give us three goals and you come and be smart because you scored 5 goals in two games? He takes us all for idiots. We ask him at least a minimum of respect, be good against Marseille because it's the last big match on which the supporters are waiting for you."
But regardless of the end of the season for Paris and Neymar, Rothen believes that the departure is consummated with the supporters and perhaps even with the club. "It will not erase the rest. I think the majority of people want to see Neymar go in June. And as if by chance, by dint of saying and seeing, today in Doha they are ask the question. They took time but they think it was a bad idea, to extend it and to have taken it.
