ROY KEANE was furious at a Manchester United star who hit “the height of stupidity” in their defeat to Man City.
The Red Devils legend, 51, was at Wembley working as a pundit for ITV and witnessed Premier League champions City beat United 2-1 in the FA Cup Final on Saturday.
United went behind when Ilkay Gundogan scored after just 12 SECONDS - the fastest-ever goal in FA Cup Final history.
They were then lucky to avoid going a man down as Casemiro escaped a red card after a stamp on Manuel Akanji.
City were pegged back when Jack Grealish was harshly judged to have handled in the area, allowing Bruno Fernandes to equalise, before Victor Lindelof was struck by an object thrown by a fan during the goal celebrations.
But Gundogan rifled City back into the lead shortly after the break and it remained 2-1 as they went on to seal the Double with only Inter Milan in the Champions League Final next week standing between the Cityzens and an historic Treble.
United boss Erik ten Hag praised his team's efforts afterwards, but Keane, who was captain of the club's 1999 Treble-winning side, had other ideas.
And one man in particular, midfielder Fred, came in for some fierce criticism for giving away a free-kick after a foul on Kevin De Bruyne that led to Gundogan's matchwinner.
The Irishman raged: “Fred had Kevin de Bruyne where he wants him. De Bruyne has his back to goal and then Fred fouls him.
“It's the height of stupidity. But we've seen that from him so many times over the years.”
Keane has previously slammed the Brazilian numerous times over his performances for his former club.
Fred arrived at the club in 2018 from Shakhtar Donetsk for £52million.
The 30-year-old has received plenty of stick from Keane and other pundits throughout his time at the club but hit back at his haters last year.
Despite being a regular under Ten Hag, rumours are mounting that he could be offloaded this summer as the United manager looks to revamp his squad.West Ham's £100m-rated Declan Rice is the Dutchman's No.1 transfer target to bolster his midfield.
