Bukayo Saka has handed Arsenal and England a major boost by returning to training just three days after going off injured against Nottingham Forest.
The 21-year-old hobbled off inside the opening half hour of Arsenal's 5-0 win at the Emirates Stadium after taking a knock in an early challenge with Renan Lodi.
With the World Cup getting underway later this month, there was concern that Saka could potentially miss out on the tournament in Qatar.
These fears have been allayed, though, with the winger back in training at London Colney on Wednesday.
Saka broke into a light jog and appeared untroubled by the kick that he took on the weekend as he joined his team-mates on the training pitch.
Gareth Southgate is already sweating on the fitness of Manchester City duo Kyle Walker and Kalvin Phillips, plus Chelsea's Reece James, with the trio all currently sidelined.
He looks set to be able to call upon Saka, though, who has 20 international caps for England, and started three games at last year's Euros during the Three Lions' run to the final.
He is likely to be a major part of Southgate's plans in Qatar as well after a strong start to the season at Arsenal.
Saka has five goals and five assists in all competitions this term, with the Gunners currently sitting top of the Premier League table.
Mikel Arteta's men return to action on Thursday when they host FC Zurich in the Europa League. A point will be enough to secure top spot in their group.
Whether Saka is fit enough to play in that game remains to be seen, as Arteta may opt to rest the forward rather than running the risk of him picking up another injury.
Arsenal face a crunch clash with Chelsea on Sunday prior to getting their Carabao Cup campaign underway against Brighton next Wednesday.
They travel to Wolves for their final game before the domestic season pauses, with Saka then set to represent his country at the World Cup.
