Sergio Ramos gave Real Madrid fans an injury update on Tuesday as he took to Instagram to share a photo of his recently-broken nose.
The 31-year-old was taken off during Saturday's 0-0 draw with city rivals Atletico after being accidentally kicked in the face by Atletico defender Lucas Hernandez.
Ramos, who will not play in Real's Champions League clash with APOEL, posted a picture showing his nose looking less swollen than it was at the weekend.
He accompanied the image with the message: 'Little by little. Step by step.'
Speaking directly after Saturday's derby stalemate, Real boss Zinedine Zidane said: 'It is a fracture, for Sergio. I believe it's broken. I don't know how long he'll be out for.'
A broken nose will generally heal naturally within two to three weeks, although it is possible that Ramos could return sooner if he chooses to wear a protective mask.
He hinted at a swift return on Monday when he wrote: 'I would bleed a thousand times for this badge and this shirt. Thanks for your support. I'll be back in no time'.
After their midweek trip to Cyprus — where a win will guarantee their place in the last 16 of Europe's elite tournament — Real return to La Liga duty on Saturday when they host Malaga at the Bernabeu.
Real are currently third in the table, 10 points behind leaders Barcelona.
