Sevilla 1-0 Eibar: Lucas Ocampos helps hosts strengthen grip on a Champions League place

There are not many players who can stand out as a one-man team, but Lucas Ocampos put in a pretty good claim to be Sevilla's after an astonishing end to their La Liga clash with Eibar.

Ocampos had given his side the lead at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium with a neat far post finish following a Jesus Navas cross 11 minutes into the second half, but it was in his own penalty area where his real heroics would shine through.

While trying to stop Eibar scoring a stoppage time equaliser, Sevilla keeper Tomas Vaclik suffered a serious looking leg injury which forced him to depart the pitch on a stretcher.

The home side had used all their subs so for the final few seconds of the game, Ocampos picked up the goalkeeper gloves to try and see the game out.

Eibar sensing a weakness threw everyone forward, including goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic, for one last assault as the game crept into the 100th minute following Vaclik's injury.

As pandemonium ran wild inside the box, the ball incredibly fell to Dmitrovic six yards from goal who stuck out an opportunistic leg to try and stab home a finish.

But Ocampos showed neat reactions to block the effort on the line before a follow-up effort was cleared away by team-mate Jesus Navas - who had set-up his earlier goal.

Sevilla held on to the lead to grab a vital win and the players knew exactly who to thank at the full-time whistle as they mobbed Ocampos.

The result means Sevilla stay fourth in LaLiga but it strengthens their grip on a Champions League spot for next season as they pull six points clear of Villarreal in the table having now gone 11 matches unbeaten in the Spanish top flight

But with Vaclik's injury looking serious enough to keep him out for the rest of the season it does leave manager Julen Lopetegui with a selection headache heading into their final four games.

Mainly, does he play Ocampos as part of his attack or does he now play him in goal?
