Shakira looks in high spirits as she cosies up to Pique at US Open

They've been together for a blissful eight years.

And Shakira and her partner Gerard Piqué looked more smitten than ever as they put on a cosy display at the US Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York on Wednesday.

Snuggled up to one another, the Colombian singer, 42, and Spanish footballer, 32, settled in to watch Rafael Nadal take on Diego Schwartzman during the Men's Singles quarterfinal.

Shakira kept things casual for her day out at the match, donning a striped grey dress that clung to her toned figure.

The Hips Don't Lie singer styled her blonde locks in loose plaits that cascaded down her shoulders, whilst a neutral make-up palette accentuated her pretty features.

Looking dapper for the game was her handsome other half, who teamed a navy blazer with a plain white T-shirt.

The Barcelona centre-back will no doubt have been delighted with the outcome as they cheered on Nadal to a 6-4 7-5 6-2 victory against Schwartzman.

The outing comes after Shakira insisted she is innocent of a €14.5million (£13million) tax evasion after being questioned by a Spanish judge.

The Whenever, Wherever hitmaker denied allegations of not paying tax when she lived in Spain between 2011 and 2014, during a hearing in June.

Shakira currently lives in Barcelona with Gerard and their two young sons, Milan, six, and Sasha, four.

While she is alleged to have moved to Spain in 2011 when her relationship with Gerard was made public, prosecutors claim she maintained her official tax residency in the Bahamas until 2015 when she started paying taxes in Spain.

The case only covers the period from 2012 to 2014, as the time frame to prosecute alleged tax offences in 2011 has expired.

Her press team later released a statement stating the Colombian Superstar was innocent and everything claimed by tax authorities had been paid.

'There is currently no debt', it said.
