Ole Gunnar Solksjaer is reportedly happy with Manchester United not making an effort to compete for the signing of £200m Harry Kane.
It was revealed on Monday that United are unwilling to spend in the region of Tottenham's valuation of the England striker due to concerns over the financial impact of the coronavirus crisis.
And The Sun claim Solskjaer is not disappointed as he believes Marcus Rashford to be on the same level as Kane.
Rashford, five years younger than Kane at 22, was having his best goalscoring season with 19 to his name before suffering a back injury in January.
And Solksjaer is confident about sticking with him as his main man up front.
United had been interested in recruiting a proven goalscorer at the end of the season, and appeared to have been handed a boost in their sensational pursuit of Kane after he admitted he would not remain at Tottenham 'for the sake of it'
The Old Trafford outfit have been forced to rethink their transfer plans, however, because of the uncertainty provided by the pandemic, with clubs reportedly believing that sky-high transfer fees will be off the table for a while.
And United chiefs accept that the change in strategy will leave them unable to meet the touted fee for the Spurs and England talisman.
Kane is under contract in north London until 2024 and any switch would shatter United's record transfer - meaning that the signing has now been rendered a non-starter.
It is understood that Kane has been privately considering his future for a number of months and has set ambitions to win silverware.
The England captain has failed to lift a single trophy at Tottenham since emerging through the club's youth ranks, and the signing of Kane would have reinforced United's ambitions of once again challenging for the Premier League title.
