Son Heung-min has been discussing the big responsibility facing Tottenham's attackers following Harry Kane's exit to Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window
Making a huge impact at the City Ground both in terms of helping them win promotion from the Championship and also retaining their place in the Premier League last season, Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou will be hoping that the 22-year-old can be a huge threat in the final third for his team. Certainly needing more goals and assists from Spurs' forward players following Kane's exit, Son has opened up on the "big responsibility" facing his fellow attackers and the need to "step up" over the course of the season.
"Everyone has to take a big responsibility because you have no Harry Kane on your team," he said after Tottenham's win at Burnley. "Everyone is good enough to step up, we have good players especially on the wing and then we got a new signing as well so we're very excited about it.
"Everyone, not just me, I think this is team sport so everyone has to take a big responsibility to score the goals and be hungry for the goals."
“Harry is a very important player, don’t get me wrong,” said the South Korean star. “He’s one of the best players in the world and one of the best players probably I would say to work with.
“If you have Harry Kane in your team, you have 20 to 30 goals in your pocket safely. But this is part of football and if someone had to leave, you have to respect that.
“Harry did a massive, massive thing at Spurs so I think in the end, the club and players, you respect each other and move forward. Especially now because we have no Harry Kane, so everyone has to step up, everyone has to take a big responsibility on the pitch to make and score goals."
"I think the important thing is the team, we were in a difficult place going 1-0 down after 10 minutes, it is really tough but I think the team did a fantastic job," he admitted. "I'm more than happy to score three goals, yes, of course I'm happy but I think the most important thing is we get three points."
