Luis Suárez has already declared in some occasion that would understand that Barça would look for a young nine, thinking already of his successor in the future.
The Uruguayan has given an interview in which he is asked about other strikers and if there are any that he particularly likes. Suárez points, in this order, Abraham (Chelsea), Maxi Gómez (Valencia) and Lautaro Martínez (Inter Milan).
First of all, Luis Suárez states that“There are many young strikers who are playing very well this season,” Suárez said.
“Personally, I have certain number of young and old strikers that I like to see them because of their skills. For example, I like Abraham, Chelsea’s No9. In my opinion he is an incredible striker with a good finishing and who moves incredible despite of his youth.
“Another one is Maxi Gómez and not only because he is from Uruguay, but also because he has a lot of characteristics and skills which are the ones that big teams are looking for in one striker. Obviously, Lautaro Martínez is playing at high level this season too…”
Asked if in the future he was a sports director of Barça and would sign him, the Uruguayan says that “it would depend on the circumstances and what the club needs at that time.
Because maybe he already has a “9” and he doesn't need it. Obviously, he is a goalscorer who is on a very high level but the reality is that he belongs to Inter today.”
