The most expensive touch ever? Sanchez only got on the ball ONCE in 12 minutes

Alexis Sanchez's time at Manchester United reached another low on Wednesday with a remarkably ineffectual substitute appearance against Manchester City.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer threw the attacker on for Matteo Darmian in the 83rd minute of United's 2-0 defeat by City.

But Sanchez, according to his heatmap, only managed to touch the ball once in a total of 12 minutes on the pitch, including the five added on.

United supporters were left dismayed as the standard of Sanchez's contribution made it out on to Twitter in the aftermath of their defeat.

'Most expensive touch ever?' one fan wrote, while another was left to rue the overall position of United.

'The state of this club,' they wrote, as the reality of the defeat sank in.

Sanchez has endured a torrid time at Old Trafford since arriving from Arsenal in January 2018 on wages in the region of £450,000-a-week.

He has only scored five times in all competitions since then, with three of those goals in the Premier League.
