Arsenal news: All the latest on Thomas Partey's fitness ahead of the Gunners' Premier League clash with Manchester United today

All eyes will be on official confirmation of Arsenal's starting XI against Manchester United this afternoon to see whether Thomas Partey is fit.

Ghana's statement has raised concerns amongst supporters ahead of today's highly-anticipated fixture against United. Partey has started all of the Gunners' first three Premier League games at right-back and another injury will come as another blow to Mikel Arteta following Jurrien Timber's ACL injury last month.

With that being said, football.london has rounded up everything we know about Partey's fitness below.

Man United hint

Despite reports that Partey will miss Arsenal's Premier League game with Man United, the midfielder has posted a graphic on his Instagram story.

Normally, players due to be involved post a matchday graphic with the relevant information of the upcoming game on their social media platforms. On Sunday morning, Partey posted the graphic shortly after 9am.

Ghana FA statement

On Saturday, the Ghana FA confirmed that Partey had suffered an injury in training and would miss their upcoming fixtures against Central African Republic and Liberia.

It read: "Arsenal ace Thomas Partey is left out of the squad due to injury.

"According to his club, the player picked up an injury in training and could be on the sidelines for a while, however the Black Stars medical teams is monitoring the situation."

Mikel Arteta stance

Prior to Friday's transfer deadline, Mikel Arteta was asked about the prospect of signing another defender following Timber's injury. He said: "We’ve done quite a lot and had a bit of uncertainty with some players as well, so we had to be very cautious and find alternatives. Sometimes you want to do everything that is needed but sometimes it’s not possible and we have to adapt."

He continued: "We cannot go and buy another three players and if somebody else gets injured long-term, do something else. It just wasn’t possible."

Arteta's comments show no indication that the Gunners had suffered another blow in defence, despite Partey's apparent injury.
