Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is already planning his summer rebuild at Stamford Bridge by preparing a swoop for promising teenager Kays Ruiz-Atil.
The 18-year-old made his senior debut for Paris Saint-Germain back in September under Tuchel and was being eased into the team with six further substitute appearances.
But since Tuchel was sacked at the Parc des Princes in December the attacking midfielder, who can also play out on the left, has not been used at all by new manager Mauricio Pochettino.
According to Football Mercato, Tuchel now hopes to bring him to the Blues in the summer to continue his development.
Ruiz-Atil is looking likely to head for a PSG exit regardless in the summer with his contract expiring, and Pochettino having dropped him into the Under 19 side.
Chelsea have been keeping tabs on the player who before joining PSG in 2015 had been part of Barcelona's youth set-up.
Due to the nature of his contract expiring, he is already free to discuss terms with the Blues should a deal be in the pipeline.
Meanwhile, Tuchel is hoping to give some of the players at Chelsea who struggled for game time under previous boss Frank Lampard a chance to prove themselves in Thursday night's FA Cup tie with Barnsley.
Among those likely to feature will be goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga as Tuchel continues to assess his Blues stars after taking over last month.
