Thomas Tuchel took to the pitch to congratulate his players after Chelsea's 2-0 win over Newcastle at Stamford Bridge on Monday.
Tuchel couldn’t contain his excitement as Timo Werner finally got on the scoresheet again for the first time in 15 Premier League games and Chelsea edged their way back into the top four.
However, N'Golo Kante was somewhat less impressed after the game - having found himself on the bench for the fourth time in five games under the new Chelsea manager.
Kante dominated the second after being substituted on with 21 minutes to go against Newcastle.
He provided an energetic display during their 2-0 win, but showed little enthusiasm after the game when Tuchel went to congratulate him.
The German manager was seen tapping Kante on the chest and cupping his face to suggest he had played well, but the midfielder simply smiled and looked away.
Fans were quick to take to social media to comment on the situation. Some suggested it was Kante's 'humble nature' that prevented him from celebrating, while others remained concerned over his future at the club.
One support said: 'Kante will always be Kante.' While another added: 'Kante is just a shy guy'.
However, some supporters warned: 'Kante is quiet but don't take him for granted, benched him and he would push for the exit door from Chelsea.
'He knows how to exit, he did it easily at Leicester. So I advice Tuchel to start using him we lose him.'
The French midfielder is one of the top midfielders in the world and has been linked with a Stamford Bridge departure.
The Frenchman joined the west Londoners in 2016 having just won the top-flight title with Leicester City.
Kante has since played 184 games for the Blues and has helped them win one Premier League title, one FA Cup triumph and the 2019 Europa League trophy.
However, it is believed that Kante is dreaming of a move to Real Madrid and fans fear Tuchel's treatment of the midfielder could put plans into motion.
