Ajax's Donny van de Beek, Real Madrid's Mariano Diaz, Arsenal's Alexandre Lacazette, Chelsea's Eden Hazard and Barcelona's Lionel Messi are the five nominees for our All Football Player of the Week, with all of them included in our All Football Team of the Week.
Donny van de Beek (Ajax)
Donny van de Beek netted crucial winner to help Ajax continue their dream run in this season’s Champions League by defeating Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at their new stadium.
Ajax have now won four straight matches away from home in the Champions League, their longest such streak this century.
He also provided an assist in Ajax's emphatic 4-0 win over Willem II to help his side lifted Dutch Cup & continue their treble hunt.
Mariano Diaz (Real Madrid)
He inherited No.7 shirt from Cristiano Ronaldo after his transfer from Lyon last summer, but it hasn't been a joyful campaign for the striker as he has suffered injury after injury.
Now the new Madrid No. 7 finally found his day as he hit his first league double of the season in Real Madrid's 3-2 win over Villarreal.
His goals against Villarreal also ended a record to let him become the first player other than Karim Benzema to net for Real Madrid since March 31, ending a run of 570 minutes without anyone else making their way onto the scoresheet.
Alexandre Lacazette (Arsenal)
Alexandre Lacazette scored twice to lift Arsenal came from behind at Emirates Stadium to win the first leg of their Europa League semi-final against Valencia.
The French forward has scored 18 goals, 11 of which have given Arsenal the lead in the match – and got 10 wins.
He won the UEL Player of the Week award and Arsenal's Player of the Year award in few days latter.
Despite Arsenal all but can not finish this season as top 4, but they can still qualify for the Champions League with a Europa League crown, and will play the second leg in Spain next Thursday, with a possible final against Chelsea or Eintracht Frankfurt to take place May 29 in Baku.
Eden Hazard (Chelsea)
Eden Hazard has moved top of the assists (15) rankings in Europe’s top five leagues after providing two in just four second-half minutes during Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Watford at Stamford Bridge.
With 16 goals and 15 assists this term, he had contributed to 31 of Chelsea's 62 league goals. And, although Pedro assisted a third Chelsea goal for Gonzalo Higuain – following Ruben Loftus-Cheek and David Luiz’s earlier strikes – there could be no doubting just how invaluable Hazard is.
Now Maurizio Sarri’s men are guaranteed to finish in the top four of the Premier League and therefore play in the Champions League next season.
Without Hazard’s contribution in 2018-19, the target would be much tougher for Blues.
Lionel Messi (Barcelona)
The Barcelona star scored twice including a stunning free-kick during his side's 3-0 victory over the Liverpool on Wednesday night.
After the match, Messi won the UCL Player of the Week award for the fifth time this season, undoubtedly the most influence player in this competition.
That wonderful free-kick curled into the only place Alisson could not reach from distance.
It is exactly 14 years to the day since he scored his first, Messi's 600th Barca goal sees Catalans have one foot in the Champions League final and one step closer to another treble.
