Real Madrid's Jesus Vallejo has no regrets taking a call from enthusiastic Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo and swapping the Bernabeu for a season in the Black Country.
Centre-half Vallejo, 22, is tipped for big things and captained his country to the European under-21 championships in the summer.
But with Real boss Zinedine Zidane unable to guarantee him game-time in Madrid, a season-long loan in England looked ideal.
'Real Madrid strongly recommended I should come to the Premier League to improve my football,' said Vallejo, whose side face Burnley today.
'I think it was the right decision. I feel really wanted here. Nuno called me saying he needed me to come and help the team.
'I've been very happy in my first month. I played in a three-man defence at Real Zaragoza and Eintracht Frankfurt (loan). At Wolverhampton, I tend to play more on the right side bu I can genuinely play in any of the three defensive positions. Truth is I feel very at ease in Nuno's system.'
Vallejo was part of the Wolves side that beat Torino 3-2 in Italy on Thursday in the first leg of their Europa League play-off and is looking forward to his Premier League debut.
He was sent off in his final appearance for Real last season for a diving save against Real Sociedad with Thibaut Courtois saving the resulting penalty.
Nuno will have to decide whether to shuffle his pack again after the midweek trip abroad. Sunday's clash will be their eighth fixture in 31 days and the second leg against Torino follows on Thursday.
In-form Mexican striker Raul Jimenez is likely to start however. He's scored five times already this season. 'I want to keep scoring goals and producing assists,' he said.
