The key to Kevin Prince Boateng’s arrival at Barcelona was Ariedo Braida. The veteran Italian director, on Barcelona’s sports staff, alerted the club about the possibility of the forward, and made easy the negotiating thanks to his friendship with Sassuolo director general Giovanni Carnevali.
Braida gave good references for the footballer from his time at Milan and Sassuolo, believing he can fit in after the departure of Munir El Haddadi.
Barca have had good relations with Sassuolo since the summer when they sold them Marlon. This helped bring about the Boateng deal, which is a loan.
The two clubs are thinking about a closer relationship where young Barca players can go on loan in Italy to keep growing.
