West Ham have agreed a £30million deal to sign Manchester United centre back Harry Maguire.

The 30-year-old has struggled at United and been stripped of the captaincy. But West Ham will offer the England man game-time ahead of Euro 2024 and boss David Moyes will make him skipper.

The Hammers have also agreed a £30m fee for Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse ahead of their £35m signing of Ajax’s Edson Alvarez.

But Manchester City are keen on Lucas Paqueta. The Brazil playmaker’s deal has an £85m release clause, though it is not activate until next summer.

West Ham say he is not for sale.
