Match of the Day pundit Ian Wright was forced to offer praise to Tottenham after their win over Burnley and Gary Lineker and Jermaine Jenas loved it
Tottenham have started the new Premier League season well. Very well indeed.
Four games in, Spurs are unbeaten, winning three and drawing one, scoring 11 goals, conceding four. they are only kept off the top of the Premier League table by virtue of Manchester City's 100% record - unsurprisingly.
A Son Heung-min hat-trick and goals from James Maddison and Cristian Romero secured all three points in Lancashire and sent Spurs into the international break on a high.
The football on display and the results Spurs have picked up, with three away games played out of the four matches so far, have left pundits and fans purring.
One pundit on Match of the Day on Saturday night had some very nice words for Spurs, albeit through gritted teeth. Staunch Arsenal man Ian Wright is a regular on the show and was asked for his thoughts on if he enjoyed watching Tottenham under Postecoglou by presenter Gary Lineker. Wright said: "He [Postecoglou] needed to have a good start, it's a pressurised job. It's looking good, the players look like they're very much enjoying what they're doing, momentum is with them and long may it continue for them (said with a smile on his face)."
That remark made Lineker and fellow pundit Jermain Jenas - a former Spurs man - laugh out loud, with Lineker following it with: "He said with tongue firmly in cheek."
