What will Machin do without Banega at Sevilla?

With barely any time to rest after their Europa League game against Lazio, Sevilla are looking ahead to Sunday's game against Villarreal and they will have to prepare to go into the match without Ever Banega, who will miss their next two games.

Banega is a key cog in Pablo Machin's team and he has accumulated more minutes - 3,066 in 39 matches - than anyone else this season, since their season started in July.

What will Machin do? Sevilla won in Rome, but the next two outings, away at Villarreal and at home to Lazio, are fundamental to their season.

The coach has several options to replace the Argentine and looking at the squad, the most logical stand-in is Roque Mesa, even if it's not his preferred position. The Canary Islander is going through a good spell and it is the best way to keep Pablo Sarabia and Franco Vazquez in the starting XI.

Marko Rog arrived from Napoli and is still awaiting his debut, which could be afforded to him due to Banega's absence, while Machin is also left anticipating Maxime Gonalons' return.
