A Manchester United supporter has been left embarrassed after burning a shirt with Cristiano Ronaldo's name on the back.

Many United fans were left livid as their former player seemed set to join rivals Manchester City from Juventus.

However, it has since emerged that Ronaldo is likely to secure a sensational return to Old Trafford.

In the video a fan is seen with a new United shirt with Ronaldo 7 on the back. The fan then burns the shirt.

Ronaldo initially played for United between 2003 and 2009 and enjoyed much success during his time at Old Trafford.

In total he scored 118 goals in 292 games for United, winning the Champions League as well as three Premier League titles, the FA Cup, two League Cups and the Club World Cup.

Ronaldo signed for Real Madrid for £80million in 2009 but the 36-year-old could now head back to United for £21.4million.

United are set to offer Ronaldo a two-year contract with wages of around £480,000-per-week.
