Zlatan Ibrahimovic is reportedly set to come out of international retirement to play for Sweden.
The 39-year-old AC Milan striker hasn't represented his country since Euro 2016, his last appearance coming in a 1-0 defeat against Belgium in the group stages.
According to FotbollDirekt Ibrahimovic is poised to make a sensational comeback, and the maverick striker is set to be called up to Janne Andersson's squad on March 16.
The Milan star previously expressed an interest in playing for his country at the 2018 World Cup, however last year he revealed he wasn't considering returning to his national team.
Ibrahimovic could feature in World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Kosovo, as well as the friendly against Estonia at the end of March.
Speculation has been rife in recent months regarding his international future after the 39-year-old met with the Sweden manager.
'When Zlatan opened up for games in the national team, it felt natural and important to meet and discuss this as soon as possible,' Andersson said when asked about their chat.
'I am glad that we managed to get a meeting so quickly.'
Ibrahimovic is Sweden's all-time leading scorer after netting 62 times in 112 appearances. Six of those goals were scored in European Championships, he has never scored in the World Cup.
The Swede has been in sparkling form for AC Milan this season; scoring 14 Serie A goals in as many appearances.
The Rossoneri have been drawn against Manchester United in the last-16 of the Europa League, however Ibrahimovic could miss the game against his former club.
A groin injury could keep him side-lined for the next two weeks according to EuroSport.
