Mexico star Luis 'Chaka' Rodriguez was forced to wear a swimming cap following a nasty knock to the back of his head in the Gold Cup on Wednesday.

During the 60th minute of the semi-final encounter, Rodriguez was accidentally kneed in the back of the head by his Haiti opponent Herve Bazile.
Blood poured from Rodriguez's head immediately, quickly streaming down his face and near his mouth in graphic scenes.
Medical staff rushed onto the pitch straight away as they realised the extent of the head injury.

And the Mexico medical team, who clearly wanted him back on the pitch immediately with a place in the final at stake, decided to put a swim cap on their player.
Despite the unusual piece of headwear, it successfully managed to keep blood off Rodriguez's face and most importantly, kept him on the pitch.

And it paid off as Mexico went on to win 1-0 against the unfancied Haiti side, needing a penalty in extra-time.
Mexico were forced to wait until the third minute of extra-time before they got the all-important goal, with Wolves star Raul Jimenez coolly converting his penalty past Haiti goalkeeper Placide.
The 10-time Gold Cup champions, who have won the tournament more than any other nation, will face either the United States or Jamaica in the final.

Mexico's win extended their unbeaten run to nine games under Gerardo Martino, the Argentine coach who took over in January.
