Arsenal's transfer business is well underway but they have found difficulty negotiating for a new striker for Mikel Arteta this summer as they attempt to win for the Premier League

Arsenal have kicked into action in the transfer market over the last week or so and have now added three players to Mikel Arteta's squad. Christian Norgaard became the Gunners' latest signing when he joined from Brentford on Thursday.

The Dane's arrival in a £12million deal sees the north London side continue to attempt to form a squad capable of winning the Premier League. Arsenal have operated frugally under sporting director Andrea Berta to land the midfielder, after starting the summer with a £5m move for Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea.

Martin Zubimendi has been the club's blockbuster deal of the summer however. The Spaniard signed a five-year deal after his £55m move.

But the Gunners' work is not done. Links to Noni Madueke persist while Berta attempts to get a deal for a new striker over the line amid issues with Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko moves.

Mirror Football takes a look at the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours.

Sesko offer

Al-Hilal could table a substantial offer to Benjamin Sesko in a bid to lure the RB Leipzig striker to the Saudi Pro League. Arsenal have failed to land the Slovenian thus far and turned their attention to Sporting CP's Viktor Gyokeres before reaching another impasse.

Sesko, 22, was said to be Arsenal's first choice and the north London team could yet return for the forward. But it appears that clubs could attempt to convince the Bundesliga striker his future lies elsewhere.

Al-Hilal are ready to launch a serious charm offensive per reports and Sesko has emerged as one of the club's top targets after it emerged Victor Osimhen favours a return to Turkey with Galatasaray.

Why Arteta wanted Norgaard

Mikel Arteta singled out Christian Norgaard's character and leadership as reason behind his signing after Brentford captain was officially unveiled as an Arsenal player.

He told Arsenal.com : “We’re delighted to welcome Christian to Arsenal. He is an international player with a wealth of experience of the Premier League. He has proven leadership skills and a strong character which will be invaluable to our squad.

"He is a strong midfielder with excellent tactical awareness and versatility. He also has physical presence and intelligence which will give us added depth and balance. Christian will bring a lot to the group both on and off the pitch, and we’re excited to start working with him in this next chapter of his career. We welcome Christian and his family to Arsenal.”

Club make enquiry

Parma and former Arsenal coach Carlos Cueta are understood to have made initial enquiries over the potential signing of attacking midfielder Fabio Vieira. The Portugal international has failed to break into Arsenal plans after arriving at the Emirates in 2020 in a deal worth up to £34.2m

Vieira recently returned to the club following a season-long loan at Porto. The 25-year-old looks likely to depart this summer.

Reports in Italy claim Cuesta is keen to bring Vieira to Parma as part of his new-look project. Arsenal are ready to sell the player and would be open to doing business with the Italians.
