French international winger Kingsley Coman (26) joined Bayern Munich head coach Julian Nagelsmann in yesterday’s press conference before today’s clash between PSG and the German giants in the Champions League last 16 first tie. The former PSG youth product left his formative club in 2014 to join Juventus. He signed for Bayern a year later. Coman extended his contract with Bayern last year and is now tied to the Bavarians until 2027. “I am part of the team’s exclusive council, so I guess I have some role to play“, said Coman in the press conference attended by Le Parisien. “I feel very good here. I know how to best help my team and my club. I give my all on the pitch. All is very good for now, let’s hope it stays that way.“
Coman has scored the only goal in the 2020 Champions League final between PSG and Bayern Munich. Three years later, the Frenchman is ready to inflict further Parisian pain to his formative club. “We don’t tell ourselves that we will play a weaker Paris side. We know that, in the Champions League, they tend to increase the pace.” With Sadio Mané (30) unavailable but on the path to recovevry, Coman is expected to start against Les Parisiens on the left wing. According to Coman, the Senegalese 2022 AFCON winner is an important player that settled perfectly with his new teammates. “Hopefully, he’ll be there for the second leg. It’s on us to place him on the best possible conditions.” A win at Parc des Princes certainly won’t go amiss.
