Bayern Munich have identified Chelsea's Kepa Arrizabalaga as a potential transfer target, according to reports.
The Bavarian giants have not had the best of luck this summer with their never-ending pursuit of Harry Kane and their failure to sign Man City's Kyle Walker.
And matters got even worse after it was revealed that first-choice goalkeeper Manuel Neuer would be sidelined for 'up to ten weeks' with an injury.
As a result, Bayern are in need of a replacement - at least on a temporary basis - given the departure of second-choice Yann Sommer earlier in the summer.
According to Sport1, the Bundesliga champions have sounded out Chelsea's Kepa as a potential option to step in for Neuer whilst he recovers from injury.
The outlet claim that initial talks have taken place over a move for the Spaniard, who has just two years remaining on his deal in west London.
The Bavarian side would, ideally, like to settle a loan deal with an option to buy but remain to see whether Chelsea would be willing to let Kepa leave.
Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel is said to be keen on a reunion with the 28-year-old, who he knows well from their shared time at Premier League side Chelsea.
The outlet also claim that Bayern are also monitoring Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou and Geronimo Rulli from Ajax.
Bayern are desperate to get a deal soon with their competitive season starting in just three days time, when they face RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup.
On Tuesday, reports revealed that Neuer 'still can't kick the ball properly' after suffering a broken leg suffered earlier this year and is still on the road to recovery.
The Bayern stopper suffered a broken leg while skiing during 'extra vacation' time allocated after his nation's World Cup elimination.
Neuer then underwent surgery for the issue and had returned to Bayern first-team training in recent months but has run into some obstacles since then.
According to German outlet BILD, in recent weeks, Neuer has struggled to 'kick the ball properly' and thus has had to undergo another round of surgery for the issue.
Mail Sport revealed recently that Juventus are ready to sell Polish keeper Wojciech Szczesny amid interest from Bayern Munich.
The Polish shot-stopper has been on Bundesliga side's shortlist to replace Yann Sommer, who secured a move to Inter Milan.
