Bayern lacks a No. 6? Kimmich: I can play in both offense and defense
Bayern boss Tuchel has been trying to sign a No.6 midfielder for a long time, but Bayern failed to accomplish it in this summer's transfer market. Bayern midfielder Kimmich says he can do well in the role.
In an interview with German media outlet Picture Post, Kimmich talked about Bayern's No. 6 position debate. Kimmich said: "You know my opinion, everything has been said about it. I think I can do both, the defensive and the more offensive part. I'm flexible when it comes to that. I’ll play the way we need"
Speaking about the failed Palhinha transfer, Kimmich said, "It's certainly frustrating, especially for the players. Nevertheless, we have a good team. We saw the players on the bench, such as Laimer, who plays at right back, and he did a great job. It was because of this that we were able to turn the game around."
Konrad Laimer came on as a second-half substitute at right-back against Borussia Monchengladbach, a game in which Kimmich delivered two assists to help turn the game around.
