The CIES Football Observatory looked at 87 top divisions across the planet and assessed how many players each club has used since 2015.

Man City have fielded just 52 players in league games since January 2015, and only Tottenham (51) can better that level of stability among clubs in England. The club used least players in last 5 seasons are Athletic Bilbao, who have used 50 players due to their special transfer rule.

The club with the highest level of stability is Shanghai SIPG, who have used just 44 players.

Many top-flight European teams are among those who fielded the least different players in domestic league matches since January 2015, such as Arsenal (56), Real Madrid (54) and Bayern Munich (59).

By way of contrast, Liverpool have had 64 players and Manchester United 63, and in the Premier League the highest number is Sheffield United with 92.

The club with the biggest turnover in the world is Colombian side Deportivo Pasto, who have made their way through a staggering 176 players, not to mention six managers, in the last five years.

The average number of players fielded per club and season varies between 38.7 in the Paraguayan top division and 22.1 in the San Marino one. The highest values in Europe were recorded in Romania (30.5 players per club and season) and Croatia (30.2).
