This transfer window Bundesliga losing many key players this season, and some may think the league is now weaker.
Bayern's director of sport, Max Eberl, gave his answer and opinion.
"The Bundesliga's standing didn't get worse. The financial means are stronger in the Premier League or even in Saudi Arabia. They can pay sums that we can't afford in Germany and can have negative net spend. We have to work within our means. The budget is also a very important topic. Money obviously plays a big role in football"
"We've conducted negotiations, we've spoken with players, and there's never been a rejection because the Bundesliga is unattractive. There are simply financial means, and they're significantly higher in leagues like the Premier League or in Saudi Arabia than in the Bundesliga. There aren't that many clubs that can compete with the sums we're talking about. And Liverpool, in particular, are making quite a splash this year, if you can put it that way. But all the other Premier League clubs are doing the same, and if you look at the balance between income and expenditure, the Premier League's net spend is blatantly negative because they can simply afford it thanks to their transfer income and TV revenue. We have to work with the resources we have, which are more limited for clubs, because clubs in Germany manage their finances very well. That's something we mustn't forget."
