Ange Postecoglou has provided an update on the fitness of Tottenham captain Son Heung-min.

Son wasn't included in the matchday squad on Sunday as Tottenham were beaten 4-2 by Wolves.

Tottenham are eager for Son to be available when they face Eintracht Frankfurt away on Thursday in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final.

Son was substituted in the 80th minute of the first leg, which ended 1-1.

This season Son has made 43 appearances for Tottenham across all competitions and has scored eleven goals, while he has provided 12 assists.

With Tottenham in 15th place in the Premier League, the Europa League represents the last chance for Postecoglou's team to salvage something from their season.

Postecoglou disclosed that he is hopeful that Son and Wilson Odobert will be fit to face Frankfurt.

The Tottenham boss added that Son had been struggling with a knock on his foot.

Before the game against Wolves, Postecoglou said: ‘Sonny got a knock on his foot so, we’re just being a bit cautious with him'.

‘Wilson, like I said, we’re managing him at the moment. Both should be available for Thursday.’

Tottenham suffered further frustration as they were beaten by Wolves at Molineux.

Wolves took the lead after just two minutes as Rayan Ait-Nouri scored, with an own goal from Djed Spence then making it 2-0.

Mathys Tel got a goal back for Tottenham but Jorgen Strand Larsen then netted for Wolves.

Although Richarlison scored for the visitors, Matheus Cunha, on as a substitute, restored Wolves' two goal lead as they took all three points.

In the first leg of the Europa League tie, Hugo Ekitike put Frankfurt in the lead.

Pedro Porro then equalised to give Tottenham hope of progressing to the last four.
