Amoura suffered a thigh injury during Algeria's training session on Saturday and will miss at least the team's next two World Cup qualifier matches.

The forward is expected to be sidelined for approximately two weeks.
Amoura has scored 8 goals for Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga this season but has been in a goal drought since February 15. At international level, his last goal came on November 13 in a 3-1 friendly victory against Zimbabwe. In the Africa Cup of Nations, he registered one assist in the opening match against Sudan.
Despite Wolfsburg's inconsistent form in the second half of the season, Amoura remains one of Algeria's most important attacking players heading into the World Cup qualifiers. This is Algeria's fifth World Cup appearance; they have reached the knockout stage only once, in 2014, when they lost 2-1 to Germany after extra time.
