Chelsea transfer news: The latest media briefing with gossip and reaction to stories on Angelo, a new recruit, and Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Welcome to the football.london transfer briefing. To help you keep on top of all things Chelsea going on in the market we've got the latest noises coming from social media, journalists and so-called ITKs, rounding up what's what in the world of the Blues.

Chelsea happy to sell Hudson-Odoi

Chelsea are willing to sell Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer after a poor loan spell at Bayern Leverkusen. The 22-year-old had come close to leaving permanently last year but instead opted for a venture to Bundesliga football instead.

With just one goal in his season away, the former academy starlet is no longer seen as part of the plans and has just one year left on his contract. According to the Guardian there is interest from Nottingham Forest and Fulham from within the Premier League as well as AC Milan.

football.london says: If Chelsea could roll back time to the winter of 2019... A £70million ($88million) offer came in from Bayern Munich for Hudson-Odoi and the Blues could hardly lose. They either received a mammoth sum for a player at the infancy of his career or they kept him and developed one of the young stars of the game.

Four years on and what the real Hudson-Odoi actually is, nobody quite knows. In fits and starts he may well have proven himself to be a Premier League worthy player but injuries, inconsistency and changing managers have stalled his career. If they can bring in anything over £15million ($19million) then it is frankly a helpful cash sum that can go towards other targets, or put straight into the £52million ($66m) paid for Christopher Nkunku.

'New Neymar' agrees deal

It is said that a £12.9million ($16.4million) fee will be paid for his services with Barcelona given 48 hours to match the bid. The Catalan giants are said not to be interested and therefore he can now all but be considered as a Chelsea player.

Before a loan is discussed he will first have the chance to impress Mauricio Pochettino in preparations for the 2023/24 campaign.

football.london says: An unknown player coming to Chelsea from Brazil is nothing new, there have been plenty of them over the years. One coming from Santos as a teenager is perhaps 10 years too late for many.

Just the very optics of such a move bring shades of Neymar to mind. As a player with plenty of games under his belt for such an age there is plenty to be excited about.

However, the lack of senior forward coming in at this stage is a worry. The club have lacked a goalscorer since 2019 with Tammy Abraham and since then many have tried and none have performed. It would be a long shot to expect Angelo to fill the gap in such a way.

Nevertheless, after securing Andrey Santos earlier this year and blending in a new wave of South American talent into the club, Angelo poses as a new option to be considered heading into the future.
