Bayer Leverkusen wing-back Jeremie Frimpong could join Dutch team-mates Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, and Ryan Gravenberch at Liverpool next season.
Liverpool fans have gone absolutely bonkers after Jeremie Frimpong was seen practising his Scouse accent on Ryan Gravenberch in a video posted by the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the Netherlands national team, fuelling speculation surrounding the Reds' interest in the Bayer Leverkusen wing-back after the Netherlands squad reported for training in Zeist ahead of their UEFA Nations League quarter-finals against Spain.
In reply to the tweet, Bayer Leverkusen's official English account replied with a black and red heart. Under that comment, one user wrote: "He's an honorary scouser already. It's done."
Meanwhile, another fan went a bit further and said: "He will be at Anfield this summer, we will take Wirtz too, ok admin?"
Replying under the main tweet, another user commented: "Will fit right in with Dutch boys at LFC."
On the other hand, a fan wasn't so sure about Liverpool's chances of signing Frimpong this summer, tweeting: "Either he's signed for us or he's absolutely taking the piss out of Liverpool."
Frimpong has been one of the best and most consistent players at Leverkusen under Xabi Alonso. However, a recent report from BILD revealed that Liverpool manager Arne Slot is determined to sign Frimpong this summer and has been in 'regular contact' with the Dutch wing-back, who is valued at around €40 million (£33m) and is contracted to the defending Bundesliga champions until June 2028.
