'1km ahead of anyone else!' - Lukaku insists he's No.1 Belgian striker EVER

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku insists he is the best Belgian striker of all-time, despite his tender age of just 25.

He is already far and away the country's highest-ever goalscorer with 45, and the stats certainly back up his viewpoint.

Speaking to social media platform Otro, he said: 'People sometimes ask me if I am one of the top three Belgian strikers of all time.

'Yes, yes, yes, yes. I would even say that I am the best of all time. One kilometre ahead of anyone else, I'm telling you.

'I'm No 1 on the national team scoring list, with 34 goals in my last 33 games. What can you tell me now?'

Lukaku made his senior international debut back in 2010 and has scored close to 50 goals in the last nine years.

He netted his first against Russia, and has been prolific in recent years, scoring a career-high 14 goals in 2018.

Eden Hazard is Lukaku's nearest rival 15 goals behind, but with the Chelsea star three years advanced you would expect him to get nowhere near his team-mate's total.
