Aberdeen reportedly want a total package worth £10million if they are to sell Calvin Ramsay this summer.
Sportsmail reported yesterday that Liverpool are in advanced talks to sign the 18-year-old, but the Reds had hoped to pay a transfer fee of only £4million.
Serie A side Bologna are also keen on Ramsay and could make an offer if they sell Scotland defender Aaron Hickey for big money.
According to Sky Sports, Aberdeen have rejected Liverpool's initial offer and are holding out for £5million upfront for the right-back, plus another £5million in add-ons.
The Dons do not want to let Ramsay leave on the cheap following his impressive breakthrough season in which he won the Scottish Football Writers' Young Player of the Year award.
The teenager made 33 appearances in all competitions throughout the campaign, contributing one goal and nine assists.
Ramsay, a Scotland Under-21 international, is keen to make the move to Anfield to work with Jurgen Klopp.
He would fulfil the role of back up to Trent Alexander-Arnold, with Klopp forced to play Joe Gomez out of position at right-back when the England international was unavailable last season.
However, Ramsay's arrival would raise doubts over the future of Neco Williams, 21, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Championship winners Fulham.
