Aguero shouts at Kompany 'I told you not to shoot' in hilarious exchange

Sergio Aguero will be thanking his lucky stars Vincent Kompany failed to follow his advice.

The Manchester City stars were in cloud nine tonight after moving to the brink of a second-successive Premier League title.

The reigning champions went in to the clash with Leicester a point behind Liverpool knowing nothing but victory would do.

The Foxes frustrated Pep Guardiola's men for 70 minutes and looked set to cling on for a goalless draw until captain Kompany stepped up.

The 33-year-old defender took out all of his frustration by rocketing a strike straight in to the top corner from 30 yards out to secure a 1-0 win.

However, City may not have moved back top if Kompany had listened to his striker as he lined-up his wonder effort.

After the full-time whistle Aguero, the club's record goalscorer, was one of the first to congratulate his skipper.

But television cameras caught him making an admission to the Belgian.

Aguero said to the matchwinner: “Vinny, I tell you, don't shoot. Noooo!”

And he was not the only one praying for Kompany to pick out a pass instead of pulling the trigger.

Guardiola revealed: “I thought 'don't shoot'.

“He was smart. He didn't follow my thoughts.”

The long-ranger was Kompany's first goal from outside the box since scoring for Hamburg against Brann in 2007.

And the City hero is adamant he had no doubts at all about trying his luck despite the tension beginning to mount at The Etihad.
