Aguero's furious reaction to Real Madrid penalty as he threatens to storm off

Sergio Aguero felt the pain of every single other Manchester City fan last night as his former club were dramatically dumped out of the Champions League by Real Madrid.

The retired striker was live streaming while watching the match with former City and Argentina team-mate Carlos Tevez, and exploded in a fit of disbelief when Madrid were awarded a penalty in extra time.

"Noooo," Aguero shouted, before jumping out of his seat and threatening to storm out of the room, as Ruben Diaz felled Karim Benzema in the box, minutes after City had thrown away a two-goal lead with just injury time left to play.

"An ex-Atletico-Barca-City player? His saltiness must be off limits right now," one fan wrote on social media in response.

"Who had Aguero becoming Argentinian Mark Goldbridge on their 2022 bingo," posted another, while a third wrote: He almost rage quit. So close to smashing those head phones."

Pep Guardiola's side appeared to have the game won after Riyad Mahrez's second-half strike gave them a 6-4 aggregate lead, only for two strikes as quick as lightning from Rodrygo to level the tie in the dying seconds.

Once extra time came around the momentum had swung in Madrid's favour, and the home side took full advantage by winning a penalty, which Benzema duly converted, to put themselves ahead for the first time in the tie.

Shell-shocked, City tried to push for an equaliser, but without a talismanic Aguero-like forward on the pitch, genuine chances were few and far between.

By now, Aguero ought to be used to Champions League heartbreak, with his final appearance in a City shirt ending in similarly crushing fashion following the club's Champions League final defeat to Chelsea last season.
