Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has paid tribute to his first club Internacional on their 110th anniversary, to mark the day the club were formed.

The Brazil international made 56 appearances for the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A outfit before moving to Roma in 2016.

Alisson still remembers his roots and is grateful for the opportunity the Brazilian side gave him.

The Reds keeper posted on Instagram: ‘Congratulations @sinternacional for the 110 year history!! I'm proud to be a part of this story on and off the field! Thank you so much for everything’

Internacional received £7million from Roma for Alisson and he has now gone on to become the world's second most expensive goalkeeper following his £56m move to Jurgen Klopp's side in the summer.

Internacional finished third in the Serie A in 2018 and the new campaign kicks off at the end of April.

Alisson's current side could be closer to the Premier League title by then as they aim to catch Manchester City who lead the table by one point.

The Reds face Southampton on Friday night, knowing a win would put them top having played a game more.
