Chelsea secured a dominant 5-1 victory over Bournemouth at home in Week 6 of the Premier League. After the match, Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso spoke to the British media, discussing the team's attacking performance, Henderson's two spectacular goals, the importance of Caicedo's return, and Palmer's new eight-year contract with the club.

Reporter: From your perspective, it was a crazy game, but also a thoroughly enjoyable win.
Alonso: I wouldn't say it was a crazy game. I think the match certainly went through a few different phases. We started extremely well, played with great intensity in the first half, and largely controlled the game. We also started well in the second half, but after conceding a goal, for about 10 minutes, the game could have become much closer.
However, the fourth goal was crucial. After that, the outcome of the match was practically decided. Overall, it was an excellent performance and a great victory.
Reporter: You must be very pleased that the team shows such a strong attacking threat in almost every game?
Alonso: Yes, but to have such an attacking threat, we must become a more complete team. We need to be strong both in possession and in defense. We are still working toward that, but there's no doubt we have excellent attackers and talented players. They can combine well, help each other, and support one another. When you see players willing to help their teammates for the overall good of the team, it's truly a very enjoyable thing.
Reporter: You signed Jordan Henderson because of his many well-known excellent qualities, but scoring two goals in a single match probably wasn't expected, and both goals were of very high quality.
Alonso: Yes, especially the free kick. He'd been practicing free kicks during the international break. Credit also goes to Austin, our set-piece coach, who had been working with Henderson and told him, "You can score this."
And he really did, and it was beautifully executed. Of course, his first goal was also spectacular.
Reporter: How important was Caicedo's return to the squad today for the type of football you want to play?
Alonso: Yes, we saw the importance of Moi today. He partnered with Henderson in midfield and was very important. Romeo Lavia also played very well after coming off the bench. I think generally, when you have a balanced and strong midfield, the whole team performs better. There's no doubt that with Moi on the pitch, our midfield is stronger.
Reporter: I imagine if you're a perfectionist, you must have also wanted the team to keep a clean sheet? Was that the only thing you were a little dissatisfied with today?
Alonso: The clean sheet will come, it definitely will. We were very close today. This was a fantastic victory, and we built up a significant lead. But I believe we will eventually have matches where we can win and keep a clean sheet.
Reporter: Last question—the club announced today that Cole Palmer has signed a new eight-year contract. How happy are you to have such a player committed to the club long-term and to have secured his future?
Alonso: I am truly very happy for him because he deserves it. He is a top player. I am also happy for the club because we will have him for many years to come. He has the opportunity to become the kind of Chelsea player who will be remembered in the future. But for now, we still need to continue working hard, let him enjoy this season's matches, and hopefully we can achieve success in the coming years.
