Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti insists there was no deliberate plan to field a non-Spanish team on the weekend.
During the defeat to Villarreal, Real Madrid had eleven non-Spaniards on the pitch for the first time.
Ancelotti said, "It was a coincidence. The parent of this club is Spanish, although the club is universal. We have Spaniards in the academy.
"Real Madrid is the club that produces the most players. It was a coincidence."
In Riyadh for the Supercopa de Espana, Ancelotti was also asked about Al Nassr's deal for Cristiano Ronaldo.
He added: "We are delighted. Cristiano is a fantastic signing for this club and we wish him all the best. He is a legend of Real Madrid, like (Gareth) Bale, who retired yesterday. I wish him the best for his future and he is at the heart of all the madridistas."
