Everton have confirmed that caretaker manager Duncan Ferguson will remain in charge for Saturday's game against Arsenal, with Carlo Ancelotti expected to be in the stands.
An Everton statement confirmed the news, while Sportsmail reports that Ancelotti is set to watch the game at Goodison Park and will start his new role on Monday.
All the details have been ironed out and the appointment would go down as the biggest managerial appointment in the club's history.
Everton and Ancelotti have been in talks all week about the Italian taking up the regins at Goodison Park.
Duncan Ferguson was placed in charge in a caretaker capacity after Marco Silva's sacking on December 5.
The Scot has since overseen a revivial, with a win against Chelsea followed by a point at Manchester United - the Toffees did go out of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday though, losing to Leicester City on penalties.
