Carlo Ancelotti has launched an ambitious plan to convince Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez to join Everton.

The Italian coach is keen to bridge his side's gap to the Premier League juggernauts  and believes the Real Madrid outcasts are a step in the right direction.

Los Blancos are willing to entertain offers for both players according to Marca.

Ancelotti was able to get the best out of Bale and Rodriguez during his time as Real Madrid boss.

The 60-year-old manager also wanted to sign Rodriguez when he was the Bayern Munich manager.

Rodriguez ended up signing a two-year loan deal for the Bundesliga giants in the summer in which Ancelotti left.

The Everton coach knows it will be hard to persuade Bale to move to Goodison Park, however, as the former Tottenham star is happy with his life in Spain.

Marca also report that Bale does not care that he is regularly on the bench for Real Madrid.

Ancelotti is convinced that he can get both to sign for Everton, with Bale having two years left on his contract come the summer.

Rodriguez will have only one year left on his current deal and does not appear to be in Zinedine Zidane's future plans.

Everton owner Farhad Moshiri is reportedly willing to offer both players a lucrative long-term contract.

It is unclear when the next transfer window will be with football suspended across major leagues amid the coronavirus pandemic.
