Yannock Bolasie could make a surprise move to Belgium after Anderlecht asked Everton about taking him on loan for the rest of the season.

The winger, who cut short his loan spell at Aston Villa earlier this month, has been told he will not feature for Marco Silva's side this term.

Bolasie has accepted he has no future at Goodison Park despite costing £25million in 2016 and is keen to move on again before Thursday's deadline.

Anderlecht, the boyhood club of Bolasie's friend and former team-mate Romelu Lukaku, are keen to sign the 29-year-old  as they look to climb the table.

Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad claim Bolasie is 'on his way to Brussels' to seal a loan move until the end of the current campaign.

A return to his former club Crystal Palace is believed to have been Bolasie's preferred option, while Middlesbrough also showed interest in the Congo star.

Bolasie exercised a clause in his loan deal with Villa to return to Everton 10 days ago in the hope of joining another Premier League club.

He made a bright start to his career on Merseyside are joining from Palace, but a serious knee injury cost him a year of his career and he has struggled to recapture his best form.
