Jan Vertonghen left Tottenham on free transfer on Monday having made more than 300 appearances for the club.
But the Belgian chose a rather peculiar match as his favourite during his eight years in north London.
In a farewell video posted on the club's Twitter account, the 33-year-old named Spurs' 2-2 draw at Chelsea in the 2015/16 season, known as the Battle of the Bridge, as his favourite match while playing for the club.
That is despite that being the game in which their hopes of a first title since 1961 ended after former Blues star Eden Hazard's late equaliser secured a first ever top-flight triumph for Leicester City in their historic campaign.
Tottenham had gone in at half-time at Stamford Bridge two goals to the good thanks to strikes from Harry Kane and Heung-min Son, but Gary Cahill pulled one back before the Belgian superbly curled home with seven minutes remaining.
A fiery London derby ended with Spurs picking up nine yellow cards - including a caution for Vertonghen - throughout the match, the most by a single team in a match in Premier League history.
But speaking to Tottenham's official website about the match, Vertonghen said: 'The one game that will always stay in my mind is the Chelsea away game where we drew actually.
'They saw we lost the league there but it is whatever it is. That game for me what the Premier League is.
'I came off the pitch very disappointed but I said 'wow what a game this was, it was old-fashioned Premier League'. Obviously we are rivals and they wanted to beat us and we had to beat them but it was just a battle and that is what I loved.
'I really was proud of the team at that time and the fight that we put in. The result, 2-2, was not what we wanted, but I remember sitting in the dressing room like 'this is the Premier League and this is unbelievable'.'
Despite his rather strange choice of memorable matches, Vertonghen was presented with a signed photo of himself celebrating with a Superman outfit added in underneath.
The centre-back was also presented with a shiny IWC Portugieser Annual Calendar watch as his time in the Premier League came to an end.
'So my time at the club comes to an end, a sad day for many reasons,' Vertonghen wrote in a post on Instagram.
'I will miss the friends I've made here, the staff that make the club run, playing at the amazing new stadium and of course you fans,' he added.
'Thank you for all the support over the years. You've been amazing. We had many unbelievable memories but for now, it's goodbye.'
Goalkeeper Michel Vorm will also depart the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after six years of service, and he too received a present from the club.
