Joshua Kimmich remains in contention for a Premier League move this summer, but Manchester United won't be in the mix unless the German has changed his stance.

The 29-year-old, who is part of Germany's Euro 2024 squad, has just 12 months left on his contract with Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga club are understood to be open to a sale, with the former RB Leipzig man not expected to sign a new deal in Bavaria.

"Generally, my situation is clear, I still have a contract," Kimmich said in March. "For me it's about showing my performances, that's the most important thing. And then we’ll see what happens.

"I still have over a year left on my contract and no one has spoken to me yet. I'm relaxed. It’s not so bad here!” he added. While United might be long-shots for a deal, their fellow Premier League sides Arsenal and Liverpool appear to be firmly in the mix.

According to Sky Deutschland (via Sport Witness), Arsenal and Liverpool are among five clubs monitoring Kimmich with a view to a potential summer move. Real Madrid and Barcelona have also been mentioned, while Manchester City - another to be linked with a move in the past - aren't thought to be out of the picture.

Those were the clubs also linked in March, with reports at the time suggesting Kimmich wasn't interested in fellow Premier League sides United or Chelsea. However, there is still a chance the German could stay put for another year.

Concerns with Thomas Tuchel prompted those earlier exit talks, but the manager has since left the Allianz Arena. Those same reports in Germany suggest Kimmich may decided to play out the final year of his contract before leaving on a free next summer.

Kimmich joined Bayern back in 2015, when current Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was the manager. He has played more than 250 Bundesliga games for the club and made nearly 400 appearances in all competitions - including a start at Bayern beat Paris Saint-Germain in the 2020 Champions League final.

An option at right-back or in central midfield, he could help fill gaps if either Arsenal or Liverpool sell in-demand first-teamers this summer. Gunners midfielder Thomas Partey has been linked with a Saudi Pro League switch, while Reds talent Trent Alexander-Arnold remains on the radar of Real Madrid.

An 88-cap German international, Kimmich is currently at his thire European Championships. He started Germany's first two group games against Scotland and Hungary, and Bayern are expected to hold talks over his future once his involvement in the tournament comes to a close.
