Arsenal and Manchester United are reported to have held talks over signing Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente.
Both clubs are looking to strengthen their squads over the summer, and are thought to be interested in the 24-year-old.
The versatile Llorente can play as a holding midfielder or centre-back.
But he has struggled for opportunities at Real Madrid despite having impressed while on loan at Alaves during the 2016-7 season.
And in the week when English clubs have dominated, securing all four spots in the Champions League and Europa League finals, the midfielder is said to be open to a transfer to the Premier League.
AS claim United and Arsenal have made approaches over Llorente - but the Spanish publication also says Real Madrid are only likely to sell if the deal includes a buy-back option, as with the previous transfers of Alvaro Morata and Mariano.
United boss Solskjaer looks set to be given a huge transfer war chest to revamp his ailing squad, and will bring in some cash from a clearout of the players who are holding the club back. So, Real's insistence on a buy-back clause may cause the Red Devils to look elsewhere to spend their millions.
But Europa League finalists Arsenal could be more tempted, with the midfielder potentially available for as little as £14million.
However, either club would face competition from the likes of Atlético Madrid , Roma and Sevilla.
