Eddie Nketiah was the hero for the Gunners as he netted his first Premier League hat-trick, before Fabio Vieira added a late penalty and Takehiro Tomiyasu scored deep into injury time.
The return to form of Nketiah is brilliant news for Mikel Arteta, with Gabriel Jesus ruled out for a few weeks with a hamstring injury.
However, it was another sorry afternoon for Sheffield United, who have just one point from 10 games.
